We, the parents of children enrolled in the Thimar Al Khayr Association a community school in South Etobicoke, are writing to offer our strongest recommendation for Imam Haris Zulovic and his family in their application for permanent residency in Canada. Imam Haris has been a vital part of our community, contributing greatly to the activities of the Thimar Al Khayr Association, especially in his work with children, for several years.
Imam Haris has served as the Imam at the Bosnian Islamic Association Gazi Husrev-Beg in Toronto for over three years. He is a key figure in the Bosnian Muslim community, playing an essential role in preserving and promoting the culture, tradition, and identity of the Bosnian people. His work extends beyond the Bosnian Muslim community to the broader community in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Canada as a whole, where his contributions have had a positive impact.
In particular, Imam Haris has been an outstanding mentor and coach for the students in all age groups (kindergarten to Grade 12) attending Thimar Al Khayr Association, imparting religious and moral values that are crucial for shaping them into responsible and compassionate members of society. His efforts ensure that the younger generation understands and values their Bosnian heritage, including their faith, cultural practices, and traditions. The parents of the children involved in this program deeply appreciate Imam Haris’s dedication to the growth of our children, both spiritually and morally.
The potential loss of Imam Haris and his family, should they be required to return to Bosnia and Herzegovina, would be a significant loss not only for the Bosnian Muslim community but also for the wider society in the GTA. Imam Haris has been an exemplary leader and mentor, and his
contributions have left a lasting and positive impact on our community. We wholeheartedly recommend that you approve Imam Haris Zulovic and his family’s application for permanent residency in Canada. Their continued presence here would greatly benefit our community, and their loss would be deeply felt.
